Free Services for Children with Special Needs

The Sacramento County Quality Child Care Collaborative (QCCC) is a remarkable resource for parents, child care providers, and early education professionals committed to fostering quality early childhood care. This collaborative initiative provides a wide range of free services to child care professionals, including center directors, teachers, family child care home owners, aides, family, friends, and neighbor caregivers.

The QCCC Consultation Team is designed to help children ages 0-5 thrive, regardless of ability or developmental challenges. QCCC Consultants offer caregivers invaluable guidance in creating inclusive environments, discussing developmental concerns with parents, and connecting with local services that support children with special needs.

Special Needs
In addition, Behavioral Health Consultants work with caregivers to address challenging behaviors and promote a stable, nurturing atmosphere for children. Their services include providing strategies for promoting social and emotional growth, minimizing behavioral issues, and enhancing communication between caregivers and families.

Early Childhood Special Education Teachers are also part of the collaborative effort, offering on-site observations and supporting children’s development. They help caregivers connect with school district programs and refer children for assessments, ensuring that developmental needs are met in medical and educational contexts.

Finally, Speech-Language Therapists assist in promoting communication development and provide strategies to strengthen language skills, consult on language milestones, and offer referrals for assessments for parents.

For child care providers, the QCCC is a valuable ally in ensuring that all children in Sacramento County receive high-quality, inclusive early education and care.
