Every April 22, Earth Day reminds us of our responsibility to protect the planet—but at Child Action, Inc., it’s more than just planting trees. We recognize that environmental justice is a social justice issue, directly impacting the children and families we serve.
Many low-income communities and communities of color face environmental hazards like air pollution, unsafe drinking water, and limited green spaces. These injustices lead to higher rates of asthma, developmental issues, and other health conditions. At Child Action, Inc., we know that a child’s zip code should not determine their access to clean air, water, and a healthy environment.
That’s why we take a social justice approach to Earth Day, focusing on awareness, advocacy, and action:
Learn about how environmental factors impact marginalized communities.
Advocate for policies that improve public health and sustainability.
Engage with families about environmental challenges and solutions.
Act by making sustainable choices and supporting environmental justice efforts.
For Child Action, Earth Day isn’t just a day—it’s a commitment to a healthier, more just world for the next generation. Let’s not just plant trees—let’s plant the seeds for real change.
