Since 1995, the California Child Care Portfolio has explored the needs and demographics of families, serving as an informative source for policy makers and advocates of families with children. The portfolio is released bi-annually by the California Child Care Resource and Referral Network (CCCR&R). It is compiled by combining data from R&R agencies in California with census and other demographic data sources, looking at supply and demand of child care in California.
The portfolio is a powerful tool for advocating for families and providers about the needs for quality, affordable care. This information can also be used to inform the public of the importance of having enough quality child care spaces for all.
