Child Action, Inc. Provides CA Legislative Update

As of August 31st, 2024, the California Legislature has officially gone into recess. The Governor now has until September 30th to sign or veto the remaining bills. We want to update you on the status of the legislation we’ve been advocating for.

Our sponsored bill, AB 2476 (Bonta), and two others we supported did not advance this session.  However, we remain unwavering in our commitment to these critical issues. We will continue to advocate for them and work toward their success in the future.

On a positive note, four out of the seven bills we supported are now on the Governor’s desk, and we are optimistic about their potential impact. We extend our deepest gratitude to our legislative champions, child care providers, and coalition partners. Your tireless advocacy and unwavering support have been invaluable in our shared mission to promote policies that uplift and protect our children and families. Through this collective effort we can make meaningful progress, and we are grateful for your commitment.

As always, Child Action, Inc. remains dedicated to championing the causes that protect and support families and children. We will persist in our advocacy efforts, and together with your continued support, we look forward to the challenges and opportunities that 2025 will bring.
