Dear Friends and Partners,
In recent months, families across the Sacramento region—and across the country—have been navigating increasingly complex and uncertain times. Shifts in state and federal policies, changes in funding priorities, and heightened social and economic pressures continue to impact the daily lives of parents and caregivers in our communities. These are not small challenges. They reach into homes, child care centers, and neighborhoods, touching the very systems families rely on for stability and opportunity.
At Child Action, we know that moments like these demand more than resilience—they call for solidarity. Now, more than ever, we must stand with one another. This means lifting up the voices of families, advocating for equity in every space we occupy, and reinforcing the supports that help children thrive.
While external conditions may shift, there are a few things that will never change:
Our Commitment to Families and Children
No matter the political climate or funding landscape, our mission remains steady. We will continue to provide access to child care assistance and support services to ensure that every family—regardless of income, immigration status, or background—has the tools they need to succeed. In fact, we recently distributed an email to our community providing immigration resources so everyone is aware of their rights and can find the help they need.
Our Advocacy at the State Capitol
Child Action remains an active voice at the Capitol, working with legislators and partners to communicate the real needs of our communities. We bring firsthand knowledge of the challenges families face and advocate for policy solutions that make a lasting difference. Whether it’s protecting child care subsidies, expanding parental supports, or advancing fair and inclusive policies, we show up—and we speak out.
Our Partnerships and Community Engagement
We are not alone in this work. Across Sacramento, we are proud to stand alongside community organizations, educators, and advocates who share our vision for a stronger, more equitable future. Through shared action and mutual support, we ensure that no parent feels isolated and no child is left behind.
In the face of uncertainty, let’s choose unity. Let’s choose compassion. And let’s remember that when we come together, we create not just solutions—but hope.
Thank you for walking with us, believing in this mission, and being part of the movement for lasting change.
In solidarity,
In partnership,
Adonai Mack
