Earth Day: A Commitment to Environmental Justice

EveryApril 22, Earth Day reminds us of our responsibility to protect the planet—but atChild Action, Inc., it’s more than just planting trees. We recognize thatenvironmental justice is a social justice issue, directly impacting the children and families we serve.

Many low-income communities and communities of color face environmental hazardslike air pollution, unsafe drinking water, and limited green spaces. These injustices lead to higher rates of asthma, developmental issues, and other health conditions. At Child Action, Inc., we know that a child’s zip code should not determine their access to clean air, water, and a healthy environment.

That’s why we take asocial justice approach to Earth Day, focusing onawareness, advocacy, and action:

Learnabout how environmental factors impact marginalized communities.
Advocatefor policies that improve public health and sustainability.
Engagewith families about environmental challenges and solutions.
Actby making sustainable choices and supporting environmental justice efforts.

For Child Action, Earth Day isn’t just aday—it’s acommitmentto a healthier, more just world for the next generation. Let’s not just plant trees—let’s plant the seeds for real change.
