The Comprehensive Approaches to Raising Educational Standards (CARES) AB212 Program provides support for the retention of qualified child care staff in publically funded child care programs. Professional development stipends are awarded for pursuing continued educational goals. The eligible population for the CARES program is Sacramento County center staff in Title 5, state subsidized early childhood education programs and family child care home providers and assistants who are members of Beanstalk, the Family Child Care Home Education Network in Sacramento County.
To learn more about the requirements and to submit an application for the CARES program, all interested applicants MUST attend a CARES orientation. APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY MAIL OR FAX.
Check our calendar of events to find out about upcoming orientations or call (916) 369-0191 to register for an orientation.
Due to funding limitations, stipends are not guaranteed. If there are more eligible applicants than funding available, a lottery will be held to determine stipend awardees.
